A ring or necklace that had been lying unused at home— by melting that gold or platinum filled with memories, you can create a truly one-of-a-kind wedding ring with your own hands.
LA CHOU CHOU in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture, is one of the very few workshops in Japan where brought-in materials can be melted and reused as they are.
・ Material cost: ¥0 (if there is a sufficient amount)
・ A special ring that carries family memories forward
・ Eco-friendly recycled jewelry
・ Same-day take-home available (if there are no options such as stone setting or laser engraving)
Please come and experience wedding ring making that “connects memories to the future.”
This time’s customers chose to melt and reuse their own materials 🔥
They brought in a total of seven pieces of jewelry, including K24 necklaces, rings, earrings, and pendant tops. These were items inherited from the groom’s mother 😊

Workshops where you can melt your own materials and handcraft wedding rings yourself are extremely rare nationwide.
The couple searched in Tokyo and Kanagawa for a place where they could bring in their own materials to make wedding rings, but they couldn’t find one… Then they discovered our workshop in Takasaki, Gunma through an online search and contacted us 📥
Thank you so much for finding us ✨
There are many workshops where you can handcraft wedding rings, but places where you can bring in your own materials, melt them, and then create the rings yourself are very rare across Japan.
At LA CHOU CHOU, you can bring in gold or platinum and handcraft your wedding rings using those materials.
If you have unused gold or platinum rings, necklaces, or earrings at home, we encourage you to consider this option.
If the amount is sufficient, the material cost will be zero, and if there is any excess material, we will buy it back— it may even work out to your benefit 😊
Many customers choose to melt gold or platinum rings inherited from their mothers or grandmothers to create wedding rings. We often receive positive feedback that the original owners are also delighted to see their jewelry reborn as such precious wedding rings 😌
Handmade Process Begins!
1. Melting
The moment the jewelry melts in the flame is a special time filled with both tension and excitement.

All of the brought-in jewelry was K24 gold.
The higher the purity, the softer the gold becomes, which means K24 rings are prone to deformation and scratches. After consulting with the couple, we decided to make their lifelong wedding rings in K22, prioritizing practicality as well as durability 💍✨
⇩Can you see other metals mixed in?
To reduce the purity from K24 to K22, copper and silver are added.

The jewelry melts away right before your eyes. Watching this process often brings out amazed reactions like “Wow!” ✨😳

Once fully melted, the gold is poured into a mold.

Holding the newly unified gold—say cheese! 📸

2. Rolling (Stretching)
By rolling the metal, air bubbles inside are removed, resulting in a stronger, more durable ring 💍
While rolling the metal with the machine, the couple chatted happily about how they met and their hobbies, making the workshop lively and full of smiles 😊

As it stretches, it becomes surprisingly long!

3. Cutting
The metal is cut to match each person’s ring size.

4. Forming into a Ring Shape
Although the tools may look unfamiliar, the couple quickly mastered them with just a single explanation from the craftsman—their ability to learn was impressive 👀!

5. Welding

6. Polishing
With each round of polishing, the beautiful golden shine becomes more vivid ✨

7. Engraving
They engraved with such concentration it felt like they forgot to breathe… Each ring was engraved with the other’s initial 💖

This completes the handmade process.
Thank you for your hard work—about 3.5 hours in total 😊 Since this was a same-day delivery, we will perform a final finishing polish before handing them over.
If there are options such as stone setting, intricate designs, or laser engraving of handwritten text or illustrations, we will keep the rings for a certain period for processing.
If there are no stone settings or special designs, you can take your rings home on the same day, so please feel free to consult us if you are in a hurry 😌
Customer Feedback
After the workshop, we received wonderful feedback from the couple. Thank you so much ✨
