Why They Chose to Make Their Rings by Hand

Their reason was simple:

“Because it sounded fun!” 😆

In addition, Ms. S mentioned that she didn’t want her ring to be the same as anyone else’s — and that made the handmade option perfect for them ✨

By creating their rings with their own hands, the process itself becomes a memory, and the finished rings become truly one-of-a-kind treasures in the world.

Deciding on the Design

Before the crafting day, couples visit our store to discuss their design ideas. We can also arrange same-day consultations, so even those who come from afar are welcome to contact us 😊

We offer the largest selection of materials in the Kanto region. Once you see and touch them yourself, you’ll surely find the perfect one for you!

Mr. K originally considered white gold (WG) but decided on the charming pink gold (PG) instead 💖 Ms. S chose black gold (BG) for a bold, cool look, and selected an inverted round (gyaku-kōmaru) shape — a rare design where the surface curves inward ✨

Let the Handmade Process Begin!

At last, it’s time to start making their wedding rings 😊

First, the metal is melted with a gas burner. Even if you’re nervous about using unfamiliar tools, don’t worry — our workshops are by reservation only, one couple per day, and a professional craftsman is always there to assist you.

As they watched the metal melt, the couple couldn’t help but exclaim, “Wow, amazing!”

They melted enough metal for two rings, then began hammering and shaping it.

By hammering and stretching, air bubbles are removed from the metal, making the rings more durable. This method, called forging (tanzō), produces rings much stronger than those made through casting (chūzō) — the method commonly used for mass-produced rings.

After shaping, they used rollers to stretch the metal. They took turns working together, happily crafting their rings side by side ❁

Watching the metal change shape so quickly is exciting — it’s amazing to think that in just a few hours, these pieces will become their wedding rings 😊

The metal has gotten quite long now!

Next, they used a special tool to bend it into a circular ring shape.

Since it’s not yet connected, they performed soldering to complete the ring — and yes, they did the soldering themselves!

Finally, the pieces started to look like real rings ✨ From here, it was time for filing and polishing.

To achieve the inverted round design, they carefully filed the surface⇩

Mr. K’s ring was a simple design, so he focused on polishing every surface — top, sides, and inside — to a perfect shine!

Mr. K finished first and watched over Ms. S as she worked. They chatted about their daily lives and even shared a funny coincidence — they had similar surnames to the craftsman, leading to a cheerful “surname talk” 😄 Their joyful energy filled the room, making everyone around them smile 😊
