【Ring Resizing】BOUCHERON “Quatre Clou de Paris” – From Kanagawa

We received a request from a customer in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, to resize their BOUCHERON Pt950 ring.
The ring’s distinctive “bumpy” pattern is said to be inspired by the cobblestone streets of Paris — such an elegant design! 🎶
The customer mentioned that the ring had become tight and caused discomfort when putting it on or taking it off. We will resize the ring two sizes up.
However, when increasing the ring size, it’s necessary to cut the ring at one point.
You might wonder — how do we restore it perfectly afterward?
For this particular design, there are two main resizing methods:
1. Design-priority method – adds new “bumps” to match the original pattern, keeping the design consistent.
2. Size-accuracy method – adds a slightly larger “bump” to ensure precise sizing accuracy.
This may sound a bit abstract, so let’s look at some photos.
Both rings shown below are BOUCHERON pieces.
The first photo shows a ring resized with a design-priority approach. We added extra “bumps,” but the join is nearly invisible — the finish looks seamless.
The second photo shows a ring resized with a size-accuracy approach. The added “bump,” circled in the image, is slightly larger than the others, but it blends naturally with the overall design, so it’s hardly noticeable when worn. This time, the customer selected a processing method that prioritizes size.

We resized the ring from 15 to 17 Japanese size (15.5 → 17.5 = 55.5 → 57.5 JIS/ISO)💍
