A Stainless Steel Ring That Even the Fire Department Couldn’t Remove

Today, we would like to share a case involving the cutting and removal of a stainless steel ring that had become stuck.

Stainless steel rings are actually one of the most common materials we see when customers visit us for ring removal.

Stainless steel is an extremely hard material, and in many cases, even fire departments or hospitals are unable to cut through it.

However, because it is resistant to rust and relatively affordable, stainless steel rings are widely available on the market.

In this case, the customer put the ring on around 11:00 p.m. the previous night and found that it would not come off.

He rushed to the fire department, but after struggling for about an hour, they had to give up (´;ω;｀).

The next day, he found our store online and made an appointment by phone.

Cutting Process Begins

The ring was tightly stuck on his index finger—it looked very painful 💦

We inserted a protective plate between the finger and the ring, then carefully began cutting with a specially made blade.

Since friction causes the ring to heat up, we continuously poured water over it during the process.

We gradually cut through the ring, changing blades along the way.

For the customer’s safety, our craftsman was completely focused!!!

Because the ring was quite wide, we made two cuts.

About 10 minutes after starting, we were able to safely remove the ring.

Thanks to improved tools and techniques, the time required for cutting has decreased compared to the past.

Of course, the customer’s finger was completely unharmed.

He looked visibly relieved once the ring was successfully removed 😊

He told us that when he rushed to the fire department in the middle of a freezing winter night, he was so panicked that he went wearing only a short-sleeved shirt and shorts.

The staff there were so surprised they asked, “Aren’t you cold!?”

He must have spent a very anxious night, so we were truly happy to help ease his worries.

Afterward, he said with relief, “Since I’m here, I think I’ll enjoy some time in Takasaki before heading home,” and left with a smile 😊
