Handmade Wedding Rings from Your Own Gold & Platinum – Rare Custom Jewelry in Japan
Take Your Handmade Wedding Rings Home the Same Day – Perfect for Those in a Hurry!
Hello 🌞 Thank you for visiting the LA CHOU CHOU blog!
October has arrived, and the weather is finally becoming comfortable! Let’s enjoy this precious autumn season 🍁 Today, we’d like to share the creation process of our handmade wedding rings 💍
Making Wedding Rings from Your Own Jewelry 🔥
For this couple, they made their rings by melting their own gold and platinum jewelry. They brought in a total of seven pieces, including K24 necklaces, rings, earrings, and pendant tops. These had been passed down from the groom’s mother 😊

Shops that allow you to melt your own materials to create handmade wedding rings are extremely rare in Japan.
The couple had searched in Tokyo, Kanagawa, and other areas for a place that allows custom rings from your own materials but couldn’t find one…
Luckily, they discovered our shop through an online search and contacted us 📥 Thank you for finding us! ✨
While there are many shops that allow handmade wedding rings, very few let you bring your own gold or platinum, melt it, and craft your rings. At our shop, you can bring your own materials like gold and platinum to create your lifelong wedding rings.
If you have unused gold or platinum rings, necklaces, or earrings at home, please consider bringing them. If there’s enough material, the cost of the metal can be free, and any leftover can even be credited as a trade-in 😊
Many couples use gold or platinum jewelry inherited from their mothers or grandmothers to make wedding rings. The original owners are often delighted to see their precious jewelry transformed into beautiful rings 😌
Let’s Start Handmade! First Step: Melting
With a gas burner in hand, it’s time to start melting 🔥

All the jewelry brought in was K24. Pure gold is soft, making K24 rings prone to scratches and deformation. After consultation, we decided to make the wedding rings in K22 for durability while keeping them precious for a lifetime 💍✨
⇩ Can you see the mixed metals? Copper and silver are added to adjust the purity.

Watching the jewelry melt, the couple exclaimed, “Amazing!” 😳

Once fully melted, the metal is poured into molds.

Say cheese 📸 with the melted material all together!

Next, we use rollers to stretch the metal. This is a joint effort between the couple and our artisan! Stretching helps remove air bubbles and makes the rings stronger 💍
While rolling, the couple shared stories about how they met and their hobbies, making it a lively and fun session 😊

Gradually, the metal stretches into a long strip.

Next, it’s cut to the correct length for each finger size.

After cutting, the strip is bent into a ring shape 💍Even though the tools may be unfamiliar, the couple mastered them quickly with just one explanation from our artisan 👀

After welding, we move on to filing and polishing.
Every polish brings out the gold’s beautiful shine ✨

Once polished, the couple engraved each other’s initials 🌟
They focused so intently that they almost forgot to breathe… Engraving is simple in technique but requires concentration to avoid mistakes – a thrilling moment!

After engraving, the handmade process is complete. About 3.5 hours well spent 😊 Since this is a same-day takeaway, we give a final polish before handing the rings to the couple.
If the rings require stone setting, intricate designs, or laser engraving of your drawings or text, we may need to keep them for a short period. If there are no stones or complex designs, you can take your rings home the same day – perfect for those in a hurry 😌
