It’s always such a joy when customers who’ve visited us once come back again 🍀 This time, the couple who made their handmade engagement ring with us a month ago returned to create their wedding rings together!

In fact, they had already discussed their wedding ring design during their engagement ring appointment. We are truly grateful that they chose our studio again to craft these special rings 😊

Create Your Own Handmade Engagement Ring – Just for the Two of You

On the day of their wedding ring workshop, we also presented them with their finished engagement ring .:･.｡ They were delighted — and so were we! (o^^o)

Apparently, when they told their friends  that they had made their rings themselves, everyone was surprised — “Wait, you made them from scratch!?”

Since the idea of making wedding rings by hand isn’t yet common, people are often amazed 😊

Actually, there are very few studios in Japan where you can craft rings starting from melting the metal, and many customers love that unique experience.

 

Let’s Begin Crafting the Wedding Rings!

For this couple, it was their second time making rings. Previously, they made one engagement ring together, but this time, each of them would craft one ring — their own! (^▽^)/

Let’s get started! When asked whether they’d like to make their own or each other’s rings, A suggested with a smile, “Let’s make each other’s!” ✨ (From left to right: R and A)

If you look closely at what they’re holding…
It’s Platinum Pt950!

This will be melted down and eventually turned into their rings.

The platinum is heated with a gas burner…

Once melted and solidified, they shaped it with a hammer.

This technique is called forging, where the metal is hammered and stretched rather than poured into a mold.
Compared to casting (WAX method), forged rings are much more durable ✨

Of course, casting also has its advantages — it allows for finer and more intricate designs. At our shop, we offer both forging and casting, depending on your preferences 😊

Once the shape was roughly formed, they used a roller to stretch the metal.

To make it easier to work with, they heated it while rolling.

Since this was their second time, they looked confident and relaxed — wonderful expressions!

After stretching, they cut the metal into two pieces.

At LA CHOU CHOU, we only accept one couple per day for handmade wedding ring workshops. This means you can create your rings at your own pace, in a calm, private space with just you and our staff 😊

Personally, I also prefer quiet spaces and don’t like being watched by others. So if you’re like me, you’ll love the peaceful atmosphere here!

Next, they bent the metal strips into ring shapes⇩

From a flat piece of metal — and just like that — it’s already starting to look like a ring!

After reaching this stage, we took a short lunch break ☕

Then it was time to continue!

They had chosen a V-shaped design, so they carefully bent the joints into a V.

The welding was also done by their own hands 💪

Once the shape was complete, they spent time filing and polishing the surface ✨ Both of them quickly got the hang of it and polished with ease.

During the process, they shared fun stories from their recent trip together 😄 Coincidentally, I’m planning to visit the same place soon — their stories were so helpful and inspiring! 🥺

After several minutes of polishing…

We kept the rings for engraving, final polishing, and cleaning. The process took about two weeks, but we also offer a simpler same-day course course for those in a hurry 😊

A few weeks later, they returned to pick up their finished rings.
